Must I use only natural stone tile for an outside counter or can I use ceramic tile as a countertop?
I live in a state where the temperature can vary from 10 degrees in the winter to 101 degrees in the summer. Some say the weather will destroy a regular ceramic tile countertop, such as the kind you use inside your home, and that I must use a natural stone such as slate. Others have told me it woud be acceptable to use ceramic tile outside. An expert opinion would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi do you know the best type of paint to cover a natural stone tile?
Hi there i am doing a job in a nightclub and am looking for some advice on the best type of paint to cover the natural stone tiles on the floor. they are not ceramic type they are quite rough on the surface i think they are stone tiles from a quarry. anyway for the likes of doorstep paint with anti slip stuff in it like sand , they only come in 750ml tins at 10 so i have to cever 170 square meters so any idea? or any websites i can get advice on this subject? i am pretty sure some of the bigger companies like ronseal dulux do certain types of tile paint and even concrete paint as it's in a nightclub as i said it has to be sort of tough durable and anti slip. although the tiles have got a type of anti slip on them being stone rough tiles, would i be better just using like concrete or garage paint and adding sand ??i really appreciate all the help.come on painters and decorators shows us your wisdom..10 point for best ideas. thanks
Natural stone tiles in the basement?
I was thinking of replacing my carpet in the basement with either laminate wood or natural stone tiles. I put a little research into types of flooring for the basement. Until i rip up the carpet, I'm unsure if the basement concrete floor is level or flat. Is it difficult to level a basement floor? Once the concrete floor is level, can i place tile over the concrete? Besides the moisture and other barrier for laminate can i place it over the level concrete floor? I heard of product called ditra but it's an extra 1.50 per sq ft. If it's such a headache to install i'm simply going to put new carpet in the basement?
Can Natural Stone Tiles be installed on a Primed Cement Board Wall?
Im in the middle of a renovation and the tiler has told me that Natural stone tiles 18x18 should not be installed on a cement board wall that has been primed. This application is for a shower steam room. He has told me that i should rip down the cement board and replace with new unprimed boards. Any advice. The tile is planning on using Flextile 52. Please advice if the boards need to be replaced. The cement board has had the screws and joints covered with drywall cement and then the entire wall was painted with drywall primer sealer latex .Thanks
